The Toronto Raptors beat the Golden State Warriors 118-109 in game one of the NBA Finals on Thursday night in Toronto. No one knew what to expect going into the game. The Warriors had not played a game in nine days. The Raptors were coming off an exhausting Eastern Conference Finals victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Even “Vegas” was afraid to commit as they set the money line even at -110 and made the Raptors the favorite -1. The over/under was set at 212.5.

Different Raptors starred in each half

Pascal Siakam was the star of the game for Toronto. The big forward scored a team-high 32 points hitting 14-of-17 shots from the floor. He also grabbed eight rebounds, dished out five assists, blocked two shots and made one steal. While Kawhi was quiet in the first half, Siakam led the way.

Veteran center Marc Gasol played a very strong game for Raptors especially in the first half when Siakam needed help while Leonard was not being a real presence. Gasol finished with 20 points and seven rebounds. He went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Danny Green showed up in key moments for Toronto and finished with 11 points. Three of his four buckets were 3-pointers.
