Sacramento County extends health order

Sacramento County recently announced that will extend the health order until May 22nd with some relaxed restrictions. 

“The intent of the order is to ensure that the maximum number of people stay home as much as possible while enabling essential services to continue, and that has been a significant factor in reducing the spread of COVID-19 in Sacramento County,” Public Health Officer Dr. Peter Beilenson said in a news release. According to the new health order which will begin on May 1st and was extended until May 22nd some activities will be allowed as others will still remain prohibited. 

Essential activities are now allowing for visiting a health care professional for medical, dental care, or preventative health services. 

As of May 1st it will allow non-contact recreational facilities and activities that include the use of shared equipment, like golf, tennis, boating, etc as long as they are conforming to social distance requirements and use appropriate sanitizing protocols. 

Contact sports an activities remain prohibited.

Healthcare providers and hospitals can now reschedule appointments that were considered non-urgent, like preventative health care, elective procedures and other care for chronic conditions.

Food Trucks will now be considered as an essential business.

Residential viewings for rentals, leases, and home sales will now be allowable when a resident is still occupying the residence. Restrictions apply like by appointment only and no more than to visitors at a time.
