It was a somber day in the Staples Center as thousands gathered to remember the legacy of the Black Mamba himself, Kobe Bryant, and the others who died in the tragic helicopter accident on January 21st.

Vanessa Bryant was one of the first to speak at the memorial service. Her poise and grace were to be admired and she reminisced on favorite memories and mourns at the prospect of missing out on future milestones with her daughter and husband.

Michael Jordan reminisces on how the first time he ever played Kobe, he was asking for pointers on jumpshots from MJ. Jordan tells how everyone was in awe of the relationship between himself and Kobe, while he was just in awe of Kobe as a person and player.

Shaq closed out the memorial service with a heartfelt speech looking back on his time with Kobe, the championships they won, and the competitive banter between the two of them.

It was a powerful service that reiterated the importance of dedication, hard work, and respect for your family, friends, and competitors.

Mamba & Mambacita Forever.
