THE LAST DANCE FOR MANY PLAYERS

Listen to your team news NOW.

As you watch the game on Thursday night, some of the players you will be watching will be playing their last football game of their careers. All of them have been very talented, high-level athletes that have never been cut from any team. However, after the game on Thursday, every team in the NFL must begin the process of deciding who will on their 53-man roster and who they should try to keep on their practice squad.

Some of the players who are cut will be picked up by other teams, but for many of the players who do not make a roster or practice squad, this is the end of the line for their playing careers. For many, it will be like hitting a concrete wall at 100 mph. It will take them some time to regroup and recover.

GOOD NEWS FOR THE NINERS

Offensive Lineman Weston Richburg has come off the PUP list and has started light workouts. The team is hopeful that he could be available for week one of the regular season.

THE BAD NEWS FOR THE NINERS

Running Back Jerick McKinnon is still battling injury problems. His knee problems seem to have regressed. He is on the watch list.

WR Dante Pettis will not play because is physically not ready to go.

The same goes for WR Marquise Goodwin.

Defensive Lineman Kentavious Street needs to have his knee scoped and will have to be placed on the injured reserve list.

THERE WILL BE HEAVY COMPETION ON THURSDAY NIGHT

The competition on Thursday night for both teams is for roster spots 46 to 53. The teams must decide who they will keep to back up the positions they see as the vulnerable to injury and fatigue during regular season games. The competition will be intense.
