Player additions and subtractions

Welcome

  • S Tyree Robinson (6-2, 202) signed with the 49ers last December but was inactive for the final three games of the season. He was waived on August 10. Robinson played his college ball at the University of Oregon.
  • WR Chris Thompson (6-0, 175) started in the NFL with the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He appeared in 13 games for Houston in 2017. Thompson spent most the 2018 training camp with the Texans and was waived just before the beginning of the season.

So long

  • OL Christian DiLauro (6-6. 300) spent most of 2018 on the SF practice squad. He was signed to a Reserve/Future contract in January.
  • RB Brando Wilds (6-0, 220) signed as a free agent with the team in August.
  • WR Shawn Poindexter (6-5, 218) signed with the Niners as an undrafted free agent last May.

LB Kwon Alexander good to go

Defensive Coordinator Robert Saleh has confirmed that LB Kwon Alexander will be available to play in Kansas City on Saturday. Alexander has not seen game action since October of last year when he tore his ACL. The 49ers have big expectations for the LB as they signed him to a four-year, $54 million contract that includes $27 million guaranteed.
